However with this comes great responsibility and for the move to go as smoothly as possible there are a few essentials you should consider buying fairly imminently.

You may have some marvellous interior design plans for the inside of your house and if you can put these into place shortly after your arrival then choosing furnishings should be fun and exciting. You will have colour schemes and themes to follow allowing your imagination to run free. On the other hand you may not be so organised. Getting the move done first and worrying about design later is definitely not a bad thing however when selecting your furnishings it would be best to chose a more neutral assortment. This means that when you come to decorating your new home you will have more choice as the furnishings you already have with fit with a larger range of colours and styles.

Leather Sofas - Why choose leather?

Leather sofas have become increasingly popular items of furniture in living rooms across the country. Depending on the style of leather sofa purchased, they can complement a traditional style or entirely modern setting. There are a huge range of leather sofas on the market today, as well as cheaper, typically less quality imitation leather sofas.

High quality leather sofas are meant to be enjoyed for years, with well cared for leather sofas lasting upwards of ten or even twenty years. If you are paying a significant amount for a piece of furniture, it makes perfect sense to spend time caring for it.

Part of the attraction to a leather sofa for many people is the fact that it can be so easily cleaned and maintained - most spills and stains can be easily wiped away. In contrast to a fabric sofa, this will save time and effort, especially for those prone to spilling food and drink, or those with children.

To ensure minimal heat damage, a leather sofa should be kept at least 1ft away from a source of heat e.g. radiator, fireplace or heater. Leather sofas should also be kept out of close range with air conditioning units or fans, as this too can damage the leather.

Leather sofas should be regularly cleaned in order to keep dirt from penetrating the finish of the leather. In order to prevent cracks to the leather, it is important to replenish the oils by applying a leather cleaner. This will help to ensure that the leather keeps it's suppleness and soft touch.

Most importantly - leather sofas are to be enjoyed! Cuddling upto your partner, watching a movie with friends, enjoying an evening with your family - have fun on your leather sofa!
